Lapacho trees turning pink along the avenues of Asunción are the sign that winter is over, and First Bloom of Spring is a bouquet made in that same spirit. It is seasonal by design: quality blooms picked by the florist according to what is at its best, then tied by hand, so no two weeks look identical. Paraguayans living far from home choose it for a mother in Ñemby, a girlfriend in Encarnación or a classmate from school days. The bouquet is made by a flower shop within the country and brought to the recipient in person, with your card attached. Expats send First Bloom of Spring for Día de la Primavera and Día de la Juventud on 21 September, when Paraguayans exchange flowers with friends and classmates.
